GLIMMERGLASS SIGNS NEW DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT WITH LASER 2000 FOR WESTERN EUROPE
Hayward, CA. – Sept. 30, 2008 – Glimmerglass, leading provider of Intelligent Optical Switches, today announced it has signed a new distribution agreement with photonics supplier and reseller Laser 2000 Germany to market and sell Glimmerglass switches in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Laser 2000 Germany will market and resell the full Glimmerglass Intelligent Optical Switch product line, ranging in size from 24 to 190 ports, as well as the Glimmerglass Console, a server based product offering centralized management for complex, multi-switch environments in these three countries. The agreement focuses a relationship that started between the two companies in 2003 and which has resulted to date in sales of the optical switches to many of Germany’s largest telecommunications and networking companies. “Glimmerglass already enjoys a strong presence in Germany,” said Robert Lundy, president and CEO of Glimmerglass. “This country in particular has recognized the “greener” benefits of optical switch technology and the efficiency advantages of our switches for managing connections without regard to data size, format or protocol. As the largest supplier of photonics products and services in Europe, Laser 2000 is the perfect partner to help us bring this message to additional industries and countries in Europe.” “Glimmerglass Intelligent Optical Switches enjoy a worldwide reputation for reliability and efficiency,” said Armin Luft, Laser 2000 CEO. “We’re very pleased to include them in our product portfolio as part of our commitment to offer our customers industry-leading photonics solutions.” About Laser 2000 About Glimmerglass Glimmerglass provides powerful, flexible dynamic wavelength management solutions.
